The filter itself is stainless and reusable, cleaned and refitted service after service, but the four O-rings that seal it are not. They are the consumable part of the system, and this kit is how you keep a supply of them.

Each seal sits between the filter, the housing and the block, and its job is to hold oil pressure where it belongs. Heat cycling, oil contaminants and repeated removal all work against it: the material hardens, takes a set and stops recovering its shape. A seal in that condition is what turns a clean oil service into a slow weep down the side of the engine.

Because the filter is designed to come out and go back in rather than be thrown away, the O-rings see far more installation cycles than a disposable filter's seal ever would. MMX recommends replacing the set regularly when changing or cleaning the filter, which is what keeps the sealing integrity the system was designed around.

Fitting is a direct swap with the original seals and needs no tools. Remove the old O-rings and fit the new ones in their original positions while the filter is out.

Product Details

Contains the four O-rings required to service one filter

Direct replacement for the original MMX O-ring set

Fitment is limited to the MMX lifetime oil filter (MMR17-1502)

Maintains sealing integrity and consistent oil pressure

Straightforward replacement with no special tools required

Oil filter and billet housing are not included

MMX part number: MMR17-0000

Related Products

MMX Performance BMW B58 / B57 Stainless Steel Oil Filter

MMX Performance BMW B58 / B57 Billet Oil Filter Housing Cap

MMX Performance BMW B58 / B57 Lifetime Oil Change Service Kit

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0512/6114/5282/files/MMX-Performance-BMW-B58-B57-Oil-Filter-O-Ring-Set-Four-Seals.jpg?v=1791241034
